Week 19: My concept & board (or just struggled week)

I was very frustrated because I could not find out any strong concept since my initial idea was refused. I had been wandering in London and only found my heavier and exhausted brain.

My second & third themes' keywords were "Memory" and "Missing". I found two concepts from them, one is "I cannot remember" which is about reminding childhood and forget faces. The other is "I was there" which I tried to describe the existence without existing a person. But former was not  strong enough for me because it refers past fashions most. Latter was, I liked it, but too hard to interpret as a style.

Creation, destroy and re-creation makes people go toward. It is the fundamental theory in Hinduism. I became very depressed, then I thought I should be pleased about this condition as an artist. I picked a word 'Lost' from my mind map because I got lost at that moment.  I started researching again and found another keyword, "The Great Depression".

Title: The Lost Generation
Concept: Try to represent young people's hollow mind, anxiety of future, frustration and depression with referring 1930's fashion when the economy situation was similar to now.

The below slide-show includes a few of my concept images, possible styles and fabrics

I may use...
Silk: hand dyed matka, twill, crepe de chine, georgette (includes original digital prints)
Wool: honeycomb, machine knitted jersey
Feathers and a few of synthetics.
Colour idea: Ghostly gray tones + vermilion fire
